Born in March 1988, George began playing Polo at the age of seven. Educated at Cheltenham College, George turned professional in 2006 at just 18 years old. With a handicap of 6 in the UK and 6 in Argentina, George is considered one of the best young Polo professionals around and has played with many of the world’s leading players including Miguel Novillo Astrada and Alejandro (Piki) Diaz-Alberdi. For a two year period, George played alongside the world’s best player Adolfo Cambiaso whilst representing Dubai in the British high goal, in which he won the Cartier Queen’s Cup.
After early recognition during the HPA fast-track scheme, at just 15 years old, George became the youngest player ever to compete in an adult England team, winning the European Tournament in the World Cup in his first season, and then again four years later. Whilst representing Dubai, Adolfo Cambiaso tipped George to become the first ever British 10 goal player.
After suffering an ankle injury, sustained playing for Dubai which kept him out of the rest of the 2008 season, George has seen his handicap go from two to five in as many years. 2012 was another great year for George, playing for Belmont Farm in the Queen’s Cup, representing England against the Commonwealth at Beaufort in the Audi International Series and winning Mint Polo in the Park with Mint Team London.
In 2014 George reached the final of the Fortune Heights Super Nations Cup with England in China and also played professionally across India, the Middle East and Argentina. The English summer saw him play for the Fox & Hounds reaching the quarter-finals of the Cartier Queen’s Cup, captained the London team at Chestertons Polo in the Park and represented England in two of the four Audi International Series where he received the Most Valued Player Award at the Beaufort Test Match.
Commercially George has become one of the most recognised faces in British Polo having worked with brands including Matt Roberts Personal Training, Chestertons, Billecart-Salmon Champagne, Kennett Watches, Dukes Boots, Coast Clothing and MacWet among others. George has also appeared in a wide range of magazines including Tatler, The Polo Magazine, Polo Times and Billionaire Magazine among many others.
